This was my favorite meal growing up! Savory meatballs paired with juicy pinapple and fluffy rice. Add some steamed veggies, or a fresh green salad and you have a comfort food classic.

Preheat oven to 400°

Meatballs:

  • 1 lb. Ground meat (I’m using venison)
  • 1/2 c. Old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 c. Milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Finely Chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 beaten egg

Mix meatball ingredients in a large bowl and scoop desired size meatballs onto a cookie sheet lined with foil and then a sheet of parchment paper. Bake at 400° for 20-25 minutes.

Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1 can Pineapple Chunks or tidbits
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped

Mix brown sugar and cornstarch in skillet and add soy sauce and whole can of pineapple and juice, cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Stir in green pepper and meatballs.

Serve warm over cooked rice, with vegetables or a green salad.
